Monday Musings: January 1, 2018

Happy New Year!

If you saw my last Monday Musings post, you can see I made a major change to the format. I am going to start posting thought-provoking quotes and ideas to help make 2018 your best year ever.

That is not to say I have perfected these philosophies. I am working on them with you at the same time! I just hope ideas that pop into my head will help you too.

The book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is practically a classic book in the self-improvement and spirituality categories, in my opinion. I have had my copy for many years, and have re-read it every couple of years, especially when I feel the urge to manifest something in my life. If you aren’t into the metaphysical aspect of it, at least think of how energizing it is to imagine your heart’s desire is actually coming to you! It helps me to feel more positive.

I am not sure where I got the idea to write down things as if they actually happened, but it helps me to feel some giddy energy and look upon the New Year with such positivity.

I already shared my goals in my 18 for 2018 post. As part of my goal in actually achieving them and to journal my gratitude, I re-wrote each one in my journal expressing gratitude for each one happening. 

While writing them as if they have already happened feels energizing, I also planned when I wanted each goal to start on my calendar. It’s not enough to talk about doing something, you have to actually do the work.

It would be really disappointing to get to the end of the year without these goals completed, so a visual prompt, like my calendar, will be really helpful.

Writing each goal was very energizing! I hope my goals written as passed tense instead of future tense will keep me focused.
