This Eggless Bread Omelette is a very handy after school snack that can be done on the go if we have bread already at our home. You will not believe that with a simple chickpea flour we can make such a wonderful snack item that too just in minutes. It has got the name eggless bread omelette because it taste and texture resembles the real omelette. Among the choice of vegetables that can be used this capsicum onion pair wins as it leaves a crunchy bite to this omelette. Instead of chilli powder you can use finely chopped green chillies. I have added grated ginger for flavour and for digestion. I have added milk for mixing the batter for more taste but you can always replace it with normal water it will also be good only. The consistency of the batter mixed should be right that it coats the bread not too thick or thin.This eggless bread omelette is a very easy after school snack and tea time snack that every body can enjoy.

INGREDIENTS:

Sandwich bread slices – 4
Butter to toast the bread(as needed)

For omelette mixture:

Besan/bengal gram flour – 1/2 cup
Finely chopped capsicum – 1/2 cup
Finely chopped big onions – 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 2 tsp or as per spiciness
Some chopped coriander
Required milk or water to make batter

METHOD:

1.First prepare the omelette mixture by taking all the ingredients given “for omelette mixture”.

2.Make a batter by adding milk or water to bajji batter consistency.

3.Keep a dosa tava add some butter and spread it all around.
4.Keep the bread first and apply the batter all over the bread and turn it upside down let it cook by adding little more butter.
5.Same way apply the author side with batter and cook.
6.When both sides are cooked serve hot and continue the same for other bread slices.

Notes

Don’t make the batter too thick or thin make it correct that it coats the bread. Spiciness can be altered according to ones need,can add even green chillies. I love adding butter than any other,if you like you can add oil also.
