A hint from the window - I'll never say it

I took her into my arms
And made her my own
Made her my own
Like I couldn’t
When she was shown
On this slate grey pavement
Of a night falling

Tell me, do you fall asleep with
Your dreams as if they
Were an old lover?
Do you put your Finger to your lips
To keep quiet
When the shadows
Bring out the thought of sunrise

And so when the clock of your heart ticks neatly
She beats like this city traffic
Lighting away these glassy streets

I guess no shawls are warm enough
For these late night walks
And I want her feet slipping into heels
Her hips moving to a beat
That I can't replace

Her lips crafted into joy
I want her fingers curled and tucked
When you’re too lost
In some place with smoke

I stood at the shore
And watched everything move
To the point I could not distinguish
The past and the future

Her lashes flying
Her dress crying tears of solid gold
Solidly sold of this life
Can you buy pleasure?
In the tilt and curve of a neck
I find that cold coins
Could Press to make marks
Such are my hands
They press to remember
Memory

Talk about coffee
And dark lipped drinks
Do mugs crack and crystal glasses fall
When the the years pass
And we change
Your face sinking
Into your teeth and skull
This pooling sadness
Making your skin softer
And your soul pulling the edges
When you blink and smile

Your essence is rockin like a boat
Uneasy yet when you fall
I catch like the ground could
Swallow us both
And I know there are seas
In this world
Your lips tracing the maps of a ring
I know you were born
To carve your name and leave

Or atleast that was what you told me

And I can tell you the world quivered
The air turning blue
Purple
Hue
Of pushed away
Do things stay still in space
We were staring at each other

The world put a cloak on us
We were hidden
Not found, lost, lost
Lost in what we created

You’ll never look back
But I’ll always stand here
Where everything stopped
My hands reaching into the space
Of two

You.
