The Watcher

I am still reeling over the cliffhanger at the end of this book! When is Book three, The Ender , coming out?!? Okay, okay I know technically this installment isn’t even out yet. This second book in the Weaver trilogy is set to bet released in a few days, on the 21st to be exact, and I was thrilled when I was allowed to get an arc of The Watcher.

Here’s a little secret, I didn’t read the first book until I got this arc. The Weaver came out in the beginning of August last year. I thought I had the arc when I met the author back when I went to the AJC Dacatur Book Festival on August 31st just after it was released (she was super nice btw). Since then I bought it but had trouble getting it downloaded for like eeeverrrrrr. So when I got word that they were looking for arc readers I made sure that I got the book downloaded and waited until I got this book to read it so I can read them back to back and keep it all fresh. And now that I have read them I need the last one , like yesterday!

If that doesn’t tell you about how good it is….

The Weaver series is set in Massachusetts where college freshman Delaney Holden learns the hard way that she is a Weaver and that she has the power to bring the stories she writes to life. Her book is set in colonial Massachusetts at the birth of the Revolution. Now bring in her antagonist and the man, literally, of her dreams and you have interesting things happening.

In the Watcher Laney is on a mission to save her hero and the love of her life. There is a new villain, a HUGE plot twist and chance for redemption. I absolutely adore this series so far. And the second book was even better than the first. It had a little more excitement and a lot more suspense. Where the first book was good it was a little predictable. The sequel was so exciting and had me rooting for some unexpected characters.

There was a couple discrepancies between the first and second book (which may be fixed since it’s still in editing) and then there was that mother load of a cliffhanger! I may have mentioned before that I HATE cliffhangers. The bigger they are the worse. I understand the use from an author’s point of view but I still don’t have to like them.  

All in all I’m giving both books 4 out of 5 stars. The Watcher book is almost a 5!

I did receive the second book, The Watcher, for a fair and honest review but I bought the first one, mostly because hello beautiful cover! In summary the first book is really good, the second is fantastic!

The Watcher is set to release April 21st! my booklings so do yourselves a faver and go grab The Weaver and get ready!
