Behind Every Lie

I don’t know if it’s me and I think like a psycho or if this Book was so utterly predictable. Every moment that should have been a shocking revelation was something I had already guessed. Every. Single. One. Does this make me a psychopath? Or maybe just really perceptive? Or maybe this was just that predictable.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes. I still enjoyed reading the book. I can’t say that it was the best Psych Thriller I’ve read due to its predictability but it was still a good entertaining read. I love a good psych thriller though.

Synopsis:

If you can’t remember it, how do you prove you didn’t do it?

Eva Hansen wakes in the hospital after being struck by lightning and discovers her mother, Kat, has been murdered. She can’t remember what happened before that night, but the police seem highly suspicious of her.

Determined to clear her name, Eva heads from Seattle to London—Kat’s former home—for answers. But as she unravels her mother’s carefully held secrets, Eva soon realizes that someone doesn’t want her to know the truth. And with violent memories beginning to emerge, Eva doesn’t know who to trust. Least of all herself.

The book also bounces back between the past with Eva’s mother’s point of view and the present. Usually the multiple pov thing bothers me but in this instance it isn’t a jarring shock to go from Eva’s pov to Kat’s. It flows nicely and appropriately.

I am giving Behind Every Lie a solid 3 out of 5 stars. It was thoroughly entertaining even through its predictability.
