The Birthday List is a sweet contemporary romance with a tiny touch of naughty. I found this story sad yet heart warming all at once and if romance is your preferred genre I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too. I’m not one to believe in coincidences but a story like this one makes me want to.
Imagine being one half of a soul and finding your mate only to lose it after a short time. This is how poor Poppy Maysen feels when her husband of just about one years time is brutally murdered. It is the kind of hurt that takes a long time to heal and after 5 long years she’s ready to do that by tackling the birthday list that her husband has started, a bucket list of sorts. To her surprise the list brings her to the man that delivered the awful news that night five years ago.
Cole is struck by his feelings for a woman he barely knew. While coming to terms with not finding “the one” Poppy falls right into his hands and from that moment on he can’t help but to help her through her husband’s birthday list because he’s drawn to her like he’s never been with any woman before. Drawn to help her, to protect her, to love her.
Im giving The Birthday List a solid 4 pout of 5 stars in romance. Because have a hard time with believing in coincidences I am having trouble bumping this story to five stars. There is a lot of coincidental stuff that happens here and that is my one hump on this story. I love the character development and tone of the story through and through. Devney Perry is a fantastic author of the romantically and I loved this book.
So my romantic little booklings, pick up Devney Perry’s The Birthday List I doubt you’ll regret it.
