Pinocchio explores the forest

I'm re-imagining the character of Pinocchio for a course at Cologne Game Lab at the moment.
Last time I showed you the little Model I built of Pinocchio and some of my first sketches.
After the feedback session with my peers I realized I wanted to have something colorful that makes Pinocchio easily stand out in front of a natural background.
I thought about using red yarn as a scarf, as it's a color really jumping to the eye. Later on I took and developed the idea. What if, after Pinocchio has been put together, he finds a sewing box and decides that he wants to be a brave knight? Something many children will love, I think :)
As you can see Pinocchio uses a sewing needle as a sword and a button as a shield. I also thought about drawing him a little friend that follows him around.
Right now I tend towards a woodlouse, as they are really, active little creatures and would fit well from the size.
The next thing - and last thing for now - was taking my ideas of Pinocchio as knight and adding it to the model I made before. (big thanks to the old lady in my house for letting me use her sewing equipment!)
I then took him to the forest, to let him explore things a bit and find an interesting setting for my final concept.
People received this idea really positively, in fact it was my first time going "viral" on Twitter. I was kinda baffled as I checked the phone this morning and seeing all the people liking my little character ^^
But I'm trying to let this not influence me too much. My plan is/was to transfer Pinocchio to watercolors, as I imagine him to be shown in a childrens book or app.
However, I'm also considering building a better real-life model for the final result, where you don't see all the hot glue. I'll keep you posted! :)
