LITIGATION SECRETARY - PROBATE

This job entails performing a wide variety of legal secretarial duties for the Estate Planning and Probate practice group and attorneys; specifically for work in probate litigation. Major duties include providing comprehensive and efficient administrative and secretarial support, calendaring, editing and composition of correspondence and pleadings, file management organization and other administrative assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scheduling the calendar of activities of attorneys, including making commitments for conferences, meetings and other appointments

Composing and editing of correspondence, reports and pleadings

Receiving telephone calls and visitors

Typing a wide variety of legal documents, opening and maintaining files

Operating various office equipment, including computer, copier and fax machine

Performing proofread and correction tasks for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, format and content in prepared materials

Tracking of estate administration litigation and providing case management assistance

Skills and Specifications

At least 5+ years as a legal secretary, including experience in estate planning, probate or trust administration

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and superior technical skills in general

Organized and detail-oriented, punctual

Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

High level of discretion and confidentiality

Excellent communication (verbal and written) is necessary

Ability to work with a team
