Our client is one of the largest plaintiff firms in Ohio with offices statewide.
This firm's Litigation Paralegals work closely with Litigation Attorneys in managing personal injury cases for their clients. The ideal candidate is an ambitious self-starter who takes initiative to achieve team goals.
Responsibilities
Addressing all aspects of discovery, including drafting responses to interrogatories, request for admissions, request for production, and drafting supplemental discovery
Preparing and filing motions
Assisting in trial preparation such as trial exhibits, charts, trial notebook, voir dire, jury instructions, verdict forms, and subpoenas
Managing attorney calendar including scheduling meetings and appointments
Analyzing reports including damage summaries, medical expenses, lost wage summaries, and property damage assessments
Obtaining, reviewing, and organizing medical records
Preparing, calculating, and maintaining damage summaries including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage
Preparing and forwarding medical records to insurance carriers and defense counsel
Communicating and corresponding with clients regarding case status
Preparing check requests, maintaining check records, and mailing checks to vendors
Preparing disbursement summaries
Logging daily mail
Qualifications
While our client ideally would like to hire candidates with prior auto accident litigation or Pre-Litigation Experience, this firm also takes pride in recognizing potential talent regardless of credentials. While this list details our client's preferred skill set and qualifications, they will happily train candidates that are well-suited for their team.
Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, and/or relevant work experience
Articulate, organized team player with excellent grammar and writing skills
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Solid organizational and interpersonal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Must be highly proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
Working knowledge of Needles Case Management software is a plus
This firm prefers to hire on a temporary to hire basis, but will consider experienced PI paralegals that are seeking to change firms. Out client offers competitive compensation, health and supplemental insurance, paid time off, flex time, and a 401k with company match.
