Our client is a well-respected insurance subrogation law firm that is located in downtown Cleveland. This firm is seeking to hire an experienced litigation paralegal for a full time position.

Duties:

Initial review of each new subrogation claim

Updating the pertinent case information into the firms tracking and database management system

Review the underlying liability and damages on each case, determine the appropriate Court a case will be filed in, and then select an appropriate complaint that will be filed on each case.

A person with insurance subrogation experience either with an insurance company or a law firm would be a good candidate, as would a candidate that previously worked for insurance defense attorneys. Someone that has experience with a law firm preparing complaints, working with police reports, setting up automobile accident cases, or the like would also be good candidates.

Requirements:

Prior experience reviewing automobile insurance claims is preferred, but an understanding of basic auto insurance coverage is adequate

The qualified candidate needs to be able to read a police report, do a basic liability assessment, and confirm that there are sufficient facts to establish that the person(s) being sued are in fact liable.

At least 2 years of insurance subrogation experience either with an insurance company or an insurance defense law firm is essential for success in this role. This experience should include preparing complaints and working with police reports.

A paralegal degree or certificate is a plus, but not required

The ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and manage a busy caseload in a fast paced environment is required. The hired legal professional will be expected to work on 15-20 cases per day at a high pace.
