If you believe cold calling is a lost art, you’ve already lost. Picking up the phone and engaging with people directly is very much alive and well, and our new group of Business Development Representatives (BDR) is helping launch our Outbound channel at Samanage shares this philosophy.

Our goal is simple. We want to connect and work with new, amazing customers and help guide them on their path to achieving their business goals through service Management.

I once read, “the hardest part of any sale is finding it,” and I agree wholeheartedly. As the first touchpoint for many organizations, our job to create something out of what can feel like nothing. After all, we may be interrupting someone’s workday to engage in a conversation about something they may or may not realize they need. This role requires a specific type of person, and it takes a lot of practice to become skilled at communicating the value and benefit of a service management solution to an organization. 

We’re excited to play a part in Samanage’s growth. Starting with a team of five we have quickly grown to a group of more than 10 and plan to have as many as 40 join us this year. 

Many will take their service management and passion for customers elsewhere on the Samanage team, becoming future Account Executives or Customer Success Managers. Others will continue to build their expertise as BDRs — masters of their craft. 

With the right blend of hard work, technology, and training, we can have a significant impact on the company’s growth. It’s a challenge, but one we are facing head-on.
