If you have plans to do some type of research this summer you will either need to arrange with a local college professor to help them with their research or apply to one of the various summer research programs at various colleges across the country. Most college professors start figuring out who they are going to have help them with summer research about this time of the year. So you need to starting sending emails, making phone calls or visiting local colleges to see if you can find a professor that needs help with their research.
If you are thinking about applying to a summer research program like RSI or any of the myriad of other research programs available now is the time to do so as many of them are due this month or next.
Thinking more about health care related volunteering next summer? Many volunteer programs also start looking for volunteers before they might actually start.
Taking a class in the summer more your style? Colleges have deadlines for summer registration so now is the time to figure out where you might want to take a class and get that application in.
Even if you are thinking about getting a job this summer, getting those job applications in early is a good move to get the best options.
Whatever your plans for next summer, now is the time to start getting that plan confirmed.
