The information and communication technology (ICT) has brought about a revolution in the history of mankind. The world has shifted from real to virtual in the recent times. But as life changing as it might be, we cannot ignore the vulnerability to cyber-crime that comes along with it. Despite increasing efforts from governmental and non-governmental Agencies, data breaches are ever-increasing. As a concept, the act of protecting ICT systems and their contents has come to be known as Cybersecurity.
The use of ICT has increased in Nepal too which increases the need for Cybersecurity as well. Though various agencies have been working at a local level, the issue of Cybersecurity is more of a national concern. Therefore, to raise awareness about Cybersecurity, CAN Federation has joined hands with Internet Society Nepal Chapter (ISOC) Nepal to organize the 16th edition of CAN ICT Conference in collaboration with SUBISU CableNet Private Limited. The main aim of the conference is to bring all stakeholders together to initiate a discussion on Information security and cyber-crimes in Nepal as well as developing country perspective.
