Center, TX (August 17, 2019) On the 16th of August, a major collision happened at the intersection of San Augustine Street and Hurst Street. A 54-year-old woman named Latreaser Cartwright was traveling eastbound on San Augustine Street in a black Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck when she somehow lost control. As a result, her vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into a Center ISD School bus driven by 74-year-old Linda Douda. The accident happened at approximately 4:02 p.m.
When the paramedics, police, and other crews arrived, they found Cartwright suffering from injuries as a result of the collision. The paramedics rushed her to Nacogdoches Medical Center for immediate care. An 11-year-old child that was riding the bus was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators are still conducting a thorough investigation of the collision.
We wish Latreaser Cartwright and the 11-year-old child a full recovery from their injuries.
