Houston, TX (August 13, 2019) – At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, August 12, the Houston Police Department responded to the scene of an incident on Katy Freeway where a victim was robbed after death.
Reports from the HPD state that a bicyclist was traveling north along the Beltway 8 service road when he was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV traveling east on the Katy Freeway.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the incident and cooperated with law enforcement.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
While police were at the scene, someone stole the bicycle, which was used by the victim.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
