Hico, TX (August 1, 2019) – On July 31, around 9 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle collision on US Highway 281 just outside of Hico in Hamilton County.
According to reports, a 2019 Volvo truck-tractor semi-trailer was traveling north along the roadway when it crossed over the center lines and collided with a 2011 Mach truck-tractor semi-trailer and a 2015 Freightliner truck-tractor semi-trailer traveling south along the road.
The driver of the Volvo, 33-year-old James Crabtree, and the driver of the Freightliner, who was identified as 59-year-old Ronald Ross, both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
