Weatherford, TX (April 23, 2019) – On Friday, April 19, the Weatherford Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on Interstate 20.
Upon arriving at the scene, police observed a semi-truck and trailer overturned in both the east and westbound lanes of the interstate. Three additional vehicles were involved in the collision. An investigation of the incident determined that a semi-truck was traveling down the roadway when it failed to stop to traffic stopped or slowed in the roadway.
As a result, the semi-truck rear-ended an SUV, which pushed the SUV into a Passenger Car. The passenger car spun and struck a pickup truck in the roadway.
One occupant of the passenger car, 44-year-old Amy Lopez, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. Seven others injured in the collision were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
