Have I Been Pwned? or HIBP; is a website that allows internet users to check whether their personal data has been compromised by data breaches.
The website does this by first collecting and analyzing hundreds of database dumps and pastes containing information about billions of leaked accounts. With that knowledge, it then allows users to search for their own information by entering their username or Email Address.
Users can also sign up to be notified if their email address appears in future dumps.
Since 2013, the website by Troy Hunt has been widely touted as a valuable resource for internet users who wish to protect their security and privacy.
And this time, the website is welcoming Indonesia as is 33rd country working with it.
In a blog post announcing it, Troy Hunt wrote that:
Indonesia's inclusion marks the first Asian nation to take up this service and look forward to many more from across the globe following in future."
With the partnership, the Indonesian government can easily check for data breach by querying its government domains at the TLD level, as well as across a handful of its other whitelisted gov domains on other TLDs.
As of June 2019, Have I Been Pwned? averages around one hundred and sixty thousand daily visitors, the site has nearly three million active email subscribers and contains records of almost eight billion accounts.
