Spring Brings Flooded Basements

Water Extractions in Minnesota

April showers bring May flowers, but they also bring flooded basements. This can be especially problematic if you are managing a portfolio of foreclosed properties. Because you likely don’t visit every foreclosed home every day, the chance that water damage can creep into floors and walls is much greater. And if that water is left unattended, you will be facing a lot of damage - and steep repair costs.

Emergency Water Extraction Services

So what should you do if you find water in the basement? You should call a professional immediately. At DuAll, our expert technicians have years of experiences in performing water extractions throughout Minnesota. Once we know about the issue, we will dispatch a crew to begin the water-removal process. How we proceed from there depends on the amount of water and how much damage has already occurred. In some instances we will have to use submersible pumps to get rid of the water. We use these when there is standing water throughout the basement. We’ve even seen homes with several feet of water!

Other cases only warrant an industrial-strength wet/dry vacuum. If there are a few puddles throughout the basement, or if the carpet is damp (but only recently!), we can use our high-powered vacuums to remove the water.

In both cases, once the water is gone we install blowers to move air over the damp areas. This helps to reduce the dry time, as well as prevent mold growth and other structural damage.

Once the water is gone, we’ll inspect the carpet and pad. If these are too soaked, we will remove them in order to protect the subfloor. This can sometimes be sloppy work, but that’s what we live for: working hard to make your properties look their best.

Don’t leave your foreclosed properties to the whims of Mother Nature. Call DuAll Services today so you can rest easy knowing that your homes will be protected this spring.
