About German Design Council
The history of the German Design Council is closely linked with the history of design culture in Germany. With 65 years worth of history, the council has served as Germany’s leading design authority, encompassing cultural, as well as business, Industrial, and economic values.
The awards were developed in 1969, with the German National Prize for Good Design being awarded for the first time, and has since grown to gain international recognition, as well as nominees such as best product design agency, MAKO’s nomination for their next awards.
The jury of judges will meet in August 2019 to review nominations, and winners will be announced in November, followed by an award ceremony and celebration in February 2020. Nominees will be judged in the following categories:
