This year’s Austin Design Week featured many diverse events for design aficionados to explore, including designing parenthood, playing with chalk, exploring the world of artificial intelligence design, designing your career, and so much more. With the Austin Industrial design community being as fierce as it is, we wanted to give the community a glimpse into the world of MAKO Design and everything we do for Austin. So, we become the official design firm of Austin Design Week 2017!

As the official Austin Industrial Design Firm of ADW 2017, we wanted to give the world a chance to see what goes on inside the walls of MAKO Design, and network with some of our world-class design team, Tim Uys, Bruce Lee, and Cameron Navarre, as well as visionary entrepreneur and Founder of MAKO Design, Kevin Mako. With nearly 75 people who registered to attend our studio tour, we had everyone from Austin industrial design students to national industry O.G.’s. The feedback from the Austin industrial design attendees was very humbling as many of them thanked MAKO for bringing the industrial design community together. We’re pleased to share we even got a few job applications!
Giving Back to the Austin Industrial Design Community
We feel it is important to give back, network, and connect the Austin industrial design community. That’s why we created the Industrial Design Guild that hosts networking events every quarter in and around Austin. In traditional MAKO fashion, these aren’t your standard networking events. Events in the past have included free tickets to University of Texas baseball games, Texas Stars hockey games, exclusive previews of the latest design software, and more!
