BlueGrace Reviews the Best Way to Ripoff the Bandaid

Get Rid Of The Bandaid That Covers the Hole In Your Freight Program!

After reviewing thousands of Companies throughout the U.S. we have yet to find the perfect supply chain. Many times we find tremendous opportunities and ways for shippers to improve their bottom line while making their lives simpler. In fact some of the best run supply chains are the best candidates for improvements. They have the horsepower to use our tools and make real changes with what BlueGrace offers. In almost every case the company agrees with the results and recommendations of an audit and analysis of their program. In fact, they see the actual dollars and improvements that are within reach.

The biggest complaint we see isn’t the lack of what to do or how to make the changes needed but rather the most common complaint is the amount of effort it takes.

The biggest Complaint we see isn’t the lack of what to do or how to make the changes needed but rather the most common complaint is the amount of effort it takes. How can you streamline the effort needed to make a necessary supply chain change?

  • Set daily and weekly reviews to monitor progress and report to the team
  • Enlist help from anyone in the company that has a project management background, not just within the logistics department
  • Use software such as Basecamp or Asana to manage the project and ask that everyone report their progress as well as wins, losses and complaints along the way
  • Ripoff the bandaid and do this quickly. If you set a shorter period of time you can be responsible and yet create gains quicker. We find projects take the amount of time allotted as suggested in Moore’s Law.
  • Review with leadership and seek sponsorship in getting the resources to remove roadblocks.

Many times we see companies do well with implementing our Transportation Management System (TMS) and combining it with an optimized Freight Program. However, we see the sharpest of companies execute quickly with great precision and reap gains much quicker.

It can be painful to make the changes early on and certainly requires a lot of effort but it’s worth it. It’s what the best companies do time after time.
