IRS Issues FAQs on Employer Tax Credit for Paid Family Leave
On April 9, the IRS released the first set of questions and answers regarding a new Tax Credit to employers who offer qualified employees up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave. The new tax credit enables employers to claim a tax credit for a portion of wages paid between Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2019 when conditions are met.

Teleworking Permitted As A Reasonable Accommodation Under ADA
In February 2018, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of an employee whose employer denied their request for teleworking as a reasonable accommodation under the ADA. The employee was awarded $92,000 in the verdict as well as $18,184 for back-pay and benefits.
The ruling indicates that teleworking may be permitted as a reasonable accommodation under the ADA, when the essential duties of the job can be completed outside of the office.
