Gurugram land fraud case: FIR lodged against Robert Vadra, ex-Haryana CM BS Hooda

New Delhi: The Gurugram Police on Saturday lodged FIR against Robert Vadra and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with a land fraud case.

The FIR has been registered in Kherki Daula police station of Haryana. Vadra and Hooda, both have been booked under under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (fraud), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document).

The cases relates to the fraudulent land transaction by Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited, owned by Robert Vadra.

What is Skylight Hospitality-DLF land deal

Robert Vadra-owned Sky Light Hospitality allegedly took Rs 5 crore loan from DLF, purportedly used the money to purchase a parcel of land and later sold the same land to DLF for Rs 50 crore. The fraudulent land deal allegedly took place in year 2007-2008.

In May 2016, the IT Department had issued the notice to Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited following which it was dissolved.

Robert Vadra and BS Hooda have time and again denied of any wrongdoing in the land deal.

Vadra, the son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi, earlier said that he is the victim of political witch hunt.
