New Delhi: A unique and one-of-its kind Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in Uttar Pradesh. BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab and a couple of Muslim women tied the sacred thread to cows and took a pledge to save cows.
The function dubbed as ‘cow Rakshan Bandhan’ was organised at the Shiv temple in Kudia Ghat area of Lucknow by the National Shia society chairman Bukkal Nawab. On the occasion, Muslim women tied rakhi to cows, giving a major fillip to ‘save cows campaign’.
In last few months, UP CM Yogi Adityanath government has taken several initiatives to safeguard cows and also to raise awareness about their many benefits.
Bukkal Nawab said that his forefathers too were fond of cows. “It was my father who built this Shiv temple,” says BJP MLC.
