Building The DMV is a podcast dedicated to the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region’s Construction and commercial real estate industry. In our first episode of the podcast, our very own Jill Sorenson got the opportunity to speak with the President and C.E.O. of James G. Davis Construction (DAVIS) who is none other than Jim Davis. Jim Davis looks back to the beginning of how the family business got started by his great grandfather, and how it has evolved through the decades.  He also discusses the importance of family values, his favorite projects, and takes a look ahead to what the construction and real estate market will bring to the DC region in the near future.

In this clip, Jim discusses an atypical retail space under apartments, which is actually a car dealership! DAVIS built this concept at the historic Anchorage Building in Dupont Circle that is located in our nation’s capital Washington D.C.
