One of the attractions during the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is a replica of the new Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss 2019 that was created entirely with Lego blocks.
The presentation of the truck was made before the public opening of the show by Chevrolet and students of the FIRST LEGO League of Oxford Community School and the A World in Motion program of Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary in Detroit.
This replica is part of the partnership between Chevrolet and Warner Bros. Pictures, which began with the movie “The LEGO Batman Movie” in 2017 and the LEGO Batmobile of Chevy .
Also in the movie “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part”, which will be released on February 8 and is the sequel to the first, will appear a mini custom construction of the Silverado High Country. In this second film the heroes of “The LEGO Movie” will try to save their city from the LEGO DUPLO, the invaders of outer space.
To build the exact replica of the Silverado, 18 LEGO Master Builders who were specially trained, worked for more than 2,000 hours. In total, 334,544 pieces of LEGO were used.
Here are some more details of the replica of the Chevy Silverado armed with LEGO:
· The model of the LEGO® Silverado measures 72 inches (6 feet) tall, 240 inches (20 feet) long and 96 inches (8 feet) wide.
· Total weight: 3,307 pounds.
· Each piece was selected by hand and placed by a specially trained builder.
· The most common LEGO piece used: the red 2 × 8 brick.
· The LEGO® Silverado was designed and assembled in the model workshop of the LEGO group in Enfield, Connecticut.
