Some schools in China require their students to wear smart uniforms with GPS

Some schools in China began to demand that their students wear smart uniforms that include two chips and GPS in order to track those students and prevent them from missing without their parents’ consent to the classes.

The 2 chips are installed on the shoulders of the upper garment of the uniform and these can withstand up to 500 washes and a temperature of 150 degrees Celsius.

According to ABC Australia , 11 schools in the province of Guizhou, southwest China, introduced uniforms that were developed by a technology company in the same province, called Guizhou Guanyu Technology .

But that’s not all, besides the schools that demand these uniforms, they register the time and the day when the students enter the school and if all this is not enough, they also use Facial Recognition Systems to make sure that the identified student is the that he must wear the uniform, in case another young man pretends to be the student.

When the students enter the school, a few minutes later, the parents can see that their children entered thanks to a mobile application that also shows them a short video of their children entering the school.

After the time of entry, teachers and parents are notified through an alarm when a student did not go to class. In addition, during school hours if a student withdraws without permission from school, an alarm is triggered.

In addition, the alarms will also sound if the student falls asleep in class and parents through the mobile application can see what their children buy at school and even set a spending limit.

Many of us who live on this side do not agree with this invasion of privacy. Although the excuse is to prevent students from missing school without a just cause, this goes beyond the physical site where the school is located. The GPS system also monitors children outside of schools, something that goes hand in hand with Chinese government control over its inhabitants. We must not forget that China has one of the most sophisticated and precise facial recognition systems in place to locate people.
