Google Lens can now recognize more than 1,000 million products

When towards the end of last year Google launched the first test version of its visual search engine based on Artificial Intelligence, Google Lens, this search engine knew or could better recognize 250,000 products.

For those who do not know, Google Lens uses the smartphone camera to visually identify different products, people, and text in images.

After being integrated into the Google Assistant only for Pixel 2 smartphones, Google in March of this year launched it integrated in  Google Photos for Android  and also in the Google assistant in terminals with the same operating system. Also in March, he  launched Lens in Google Photos for iOS  and then in the Google I / O 2018 event, an update was launched that offered results in real time and also smart text selection. Finally Google integrated Lens in the  Google Search engine for iOS .

In all this time that happened and integrated it into those iOS and Android applications, Google continued to train the search engine to learn to recognize more products and now the Mountain View company announced through an article on its blog that Google Lens thanks to your OCR (Optical Character Recognition) engine  can now recognize the labels of more than 1 billion products  available through Google Shopping.
