The leadership of the Chinese Internet giant JD announced the merger of the company with Blockchain in Transport Aliance (BiTA).
Yesterday the company said in an interview that JD Logistics will join the alliance in order to share its knowledge about applying Blockchain Technology to other international freight companies, including members of BiTA, UPS, FedEx, Penske and others.
BiTA was established to develop and promote blocking standards for global freight and logistics companies.
It is reported that JD Logistics, formed in 2017, is the first Chinese logistics company to join the alliance.
The company said it plans to use the block in the optimization of supply chains, cross-border logistics and communications.
The news came just a day after the giant FedEx announced its membership in BiTA.
Blockchain technology is increasingly seen as a potential means of increasing efficiency, transparency and reducing costs for the logistics industry.
