The Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications proposed a draft law providing for the supervision of crypto-currency Miners. The project in question was presented to journalists at a press conference where it became known about its content. This is reported by the newspaper Vedomosti with reference to the document. In particular, it is planned to create a specialized system for tracking and identifying miners – based on the amount of electricity consumed and Internet traffic.
The authors of the concept believe that this approach will allow comparing the capacity of equipment for Mining with the number of tokens that will need to be declared on the crypto exchange.
In the original document of the miners it is proposed to impose taxes by introducing special tariffs for electric power for them. If a legal person is engaged in mining, he will have to pay income tax. The bill, however, does not specify what kind of tax private individuals who are engaged in mining will pay.
According to media reports, this concept is still only at the development stage, and on February 1 it will be sent to the government for approval. According to Vedomosti, it will not be difficult to calculate the miner, because he “consumes as much energy per day as an entire aluminum plant”.
On this note, it is worth recalling that although today the status of crypto-currency is not defined in Russia, on January 25 the draft law “On Digital Financial Assets” was already submitted – an attempt to create a legal basis for operations in this environment.
