For crypto-currency transactions, personal income tax will be collected at a rate of 13% and will be mandatory not only for Russian citizens, but for foreigners who reside on the territory of the Russian Federation for more than half a year.
In the framework of the bill “On Digital Financial Assets” under consideration in the State Duma, the principles of taxing operations with crypto-currencies are being prepared. Corresponding amendments to the Tax Code are already under preparation. The bill involves the payment of personal income tax for transactions with crypto-currencies at a rate of 13%.
The planned tax will be mandatory for payment not only by Russian citizens, but also by foreigners living in Russia for more than 183 days during the year. In other words, it is the duty of all Russians conducting operations with crypto-currencies to file a corresponding declaration with the Federal Tax Service and pay taxes.
Already, experts say that the tax authorities do not have an understanding of the principles of the operation of crypto-exchange sites, the identification of miners and crypto-cheerleaders, which will significantly complicate the work of the Federal Tax Service.
Nevertheless, the same experts highly appreciate the risks of criminal prosecution in case of tax evasion and recommend timely submission of declarations to the Federal Tax Service and pay the corresponding tax.
