Three years ago Eddie Zillan was carried away by crypto-currencies. Then he was 15: too little to establish an account on the Coinbase exchange, which can be used from the age of 18. But Eddie decided to ignore the rules – he registered with Coinbase and another Kraken exchange. The boy decided to act cautiously and first bought the airtime for $ 100.
According to Zillan, initially he was skeptical about this idea – he first heard about the crypto-currency market in the context of the discussion of the now closed anonymous Silk Road trading platform where drugs were sold.
“At the time when I was invested in the crypt, there were no video bloggers and investors, in a word, no one I could learn from,” the guy told the Business Insider. “There were no books or mentors, so it was difficult for me to learn everything.”
A few hours after investing the first hundred dollars Eddie checked his account and found that he had already earned $ 10. The amount was small, but she impressed the boy.
“I thought:” Wow, in one day I got 10% of the profit. Madness! “” – recalls Eddie. The next day he invested more money, this time $ 1000. A week later, he added $ 5,000, and another one-$ 6,000.
In total, Zillan invested $ 12,000 in the crypto currency – all of his savings from tennis lessons and the money that he received for the holidays. “I risked everything,” Eddie commented.
The attitude of the parents towards the new hobby of the son was ambiguous. His mother approved, and his father warned Eddie that he was engaged in a very risky business. By that time, Eddie himself had already lost all doubts.
A few months later, his profits began to rise sharply. After that, Zillan began to actively read about crypto-currencies. Sometimes he spent days on credit-exchange forums and corresponded with other investors. Soon Eddie began to work with the altcoyins and engage in dey-trading .
Over the year, the investment portfolio of Eddie grew to $ 350,000. Like many early crypto-currency enthusiasts, Zillan admits that he was able to make a lot of money due to the fact that he chose the right time for investment. But, according to the guy, in order to make smart investments in the crypto currency, it is not enough just to get an account on Coinbase.
Now Zillan is 18 years old. He owns a portfolio of investments worth more than $ 1 million and works in his own firm Cryptocurrency Financial , which advises organizations and novice investors on investing in crypto-currencies. Eddie plans to launch the application Coinalert.ly , with which you can learn the latest news of the crypto-currency market and other useful information in this area. According to Zillan, the crypto-currency community lacks such an information resource.
Eddie claims that he wants to simply train people and increase the crypto-exchange community, rather than cashing in, like other crypto-genies and crypto experts do.
“I’m not some type of Wall Street,” he said. “I have no reason to deceive people.”
However, Zillan’s words diverge from his image on the web. On his website, Eddie calls himself a “crypto-millionaire” and actively uses slogans in the style of “learn how to quickly get rich”. In Instagram, he constantly uploads photos on the background of some tropics or next to a steep sports car. Zillan has three luxury cars – he said, he bought them for some of the first money earned and the money of his parents (both his parents are wealthy businessmen).
In one of the photos, Zillan smiles at the background of the picture, where he is depicted as the hero of the movie “The Wolf from Wall Street”. “The Wolf with Crypto Street,” the young millionaire signed. When asked why he compares himself to one of the most scandalous traders on Wall Street, Zillan replied that this is just a “marketing move.”
