Indian International student kills brother by stabbing 97 times

Sandeep Kumar Jassal, an international student, studying in Conestoga College, has admitted that he killed his younger brother Ajay Kumar by stabbing him 97 times knife attack on the night of Sept. 16, 2020.

This brutal attacked happened inside a house in Cambridge where four roommates of the younger brother were also present.

Though the motive of this murder is still not clear but lawyer of Sandeep Jassal has argued that he was depressed and he was off his medication.

His parents have also said in a statement to the court that he has bipolar disorder.

Sandeep Jassal, who is 30 years old now has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the killing of his 26 year old brother Ajay Kumar.

Last Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years.

Ajay Kumar was living with his four roommates in Cambridge while Sandeep was living in Kitchener.

Their parents who live in India have said that they have health problems. They are retired and already struggling with financial problems. They sent their both sons to Canada with a hope that their sons would help them to get out of these financial issues.

They said now they have already lost one son and second son in jail and there is no one to look after them.

After serving his sentence in Canada, Sandeep Jassal will be deported to India.
