New Delhi: Twenty-five-year-old Amarjit Singh, one of the Sikh devotees who went to Pakistan is missing.
Amarjit is a resident of a village Nizampura, Verka in outer Amritsar. He had gone with the Sikh jatha and was part of the 1794 member Sikh Delegation which visited Pakistan on the occasion of Baisakhi. Today when they returned Amarjit wasn’t part of the delegation.
Earlier, a Hoshiarpur woman Kiranbala who too had gone to Pakistan married a man in Lahore and refused to come to India. Today the Sikh delegation which came back was two members less — one was Kiran bala and the other Amarjit Singh.
There is very little information about the whereabouts of Amarjit, not even as much as about Kiranbala, who openly said that she won’t return to India despite repeated appeals and requests by her father-in-law and despite the fact that she has three children back home. Kiranbala’s husband died in 2013.
