TORONTO — Rogers Communications Inc. reports it had a third-quarter profit of $467 million in its latest quarter as its revenue grew.
The wireless, cable and Internet provider (TSX:RCI.B) says its net income amounted to 91 cents per diluted share for three-months ended Sept. 30.
That compared with a profit of $220 million or 43 cents per diluted share a year ago when the company was hit by costs related to the wind down of its Shomi business.
On an adjusted basis, Rogers says it earned $523 million or $1.02 per share for the quarter, up from $427 million or 83 cents per share a year ago.
Revenue totalled $3.58 billion, up from $3.49 billion in the same quarter last year.
Rogers also said it now expects its 2017 adjusted operating profit will be between five and six per cent higher than last year, compared with its previous estimate of two to four per cent growth.
