A roofing company crew is about to begin the removal of THIS clients’ old roof when hundreds of bats come flying out from underneath the tiles.

This happened in Miami, Florida USA. Check out the video and their reactions.

According to www.cdc.gov:

[1] Some bats live in buildings, and there’s no reason to evict them if there is little chance for contact with people.

[2] Bats must not be allowed into your home. It’s best to contact an animal-control or wildlife conservation agency for assistance with “bat-proofing” your home.

Look how the bats kept flying out as the roof was removed. There must have been thousands of them in there!

I could not help wondering how workers on a client’s roof in Nigeria, would have reacted to such an incident.

This video shows a natural spectacle in which thousands of bats woke up and took flight.

This was due to gunshots fired during an official reception of German President Joachim Gauck to Nigeria, hosted by Nigerian President Muhammad Buhari in front of the State House (Aso Villa) in Abuja on February 11, 2016.

The truth is most Nigerians do NOT like Bats. They consider them to be associated with evil i.e. like a bad omen.

The Reason? SUPERSTITION and Extreme Religious Beliefs!

Listen to the words of THIS female narrator about the sighting of bats.

“As we approached a certain high profile politician’s house, we saw a colony of bats swirling in circles above us. See, Bats are nocturnal but somehow appeared in broad daylight while we prayed. Bats represent unclean spirits, idolatry and spiritual blindness or darkness.”

Thankfully, Iroro Tanshi – a dedicated Nigerian bat specialist, and awardee of Future For Nature Foundation (FFN) is ONE Nigerian who knows better.

And she’s teaching other Nigerians that Bats are harmless and actually useful e.g. they eat insect pests, facilitiate pollination while feeding on flowers.

But what about BLOOD SUCKING VAMPIRE BATS???!

However…unlike fictional vampires, these bats have NOT been known to feed on blood from humans.

Vampire bats in Brazil are now found to be feeding on human blood for the first time. Is this the beginning of the vampire apocalypse?

When I first heard that Vampire bats were a real thing, I was kinda freaked out. But then I did some research and was “informed” that they only usually feed on blood of creatures like birds & cattle.

And instead of feeling relieved, I thought “I bet these things are only settling for animals and would a hundred percent such a human dry if they had the chance. I mean come on, you can’t trust anything sucks blood to stay alive!

That’s why it didn’t really surprise me when recent newspaper reports are saying that these vampire bats have been caughgt feeding on human beings.

And this is a huge problem in more ways than one. First of all, it’s a, it’s a BAT, sucking your blood…that’s terrifying enough!

But vampire bats are also known to transmit rabies, so the disease could possibly spread everywhere, if these bats continue to feed on humans. Researchers believe that the vampire bats are able to enter houses through holes in the roof or windows, as well as target people sleeping outside.

So, time to install the actual door and grab some garlic! And if you’re wondering how the researchers found out the bats were feeding on human blood, it was done through an experiment at the Federal University of Punacupon Brazil, where a test was made to see what vampire bats would do if there was a scarcity of birds to feed on.

This particular breed of vampire bats also known as the “Hairy legged” vampire bats inhabit forests in North Eastern Brazil and are one of the 3 species of vampire bats that feed only on blood.

Researchers analyzed 70 feaces samples from these bats in a cave in Cantanbung National Park in Brazil and found that 3 of the 70 samples had human blood in them.

This was surprising to them because in previous experiments the bats actually starved themselves to death instead of drinking the pig or goat blood that was available to them.

But this time they actually drink human blood. Apparently the reason why bats don’t usually feed on mammal blood is thicker and harder for the bat system to process.

I guess humans don’t really have that problem!
