Check Out the Biggest Logo Redesigns Of 2017

We all witnessed how 2016 was the year when companies went for redesigns and it seems that the year 2017 will be no different. Big brands such as Kodak, Mozilla, Calvin Klein and others are all set to roll out their redesigns and of course, we just had to give you all a sneak peek. So let’s take a look at some of them down below:

Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein recently released their new Logo on Instagram, describing it as “a return to the spirit of the original”. The new logo has been designed by British graphic designer Peter Saville in collaboration with the creative director of Calvin Klein Raf Simons and is said to be “an acknowledgment of the founder and foundations of fashion”.

The process for the redesign for the Mozilla logo began last year and we now have get to have a look at what the new logo will be like. Although a color palette has not been finalized yet, a suggested range of colors has been created and apart from the wordmark, no one icon or image will be used with it rather the company intends to use a set of changing visuals.

Perhaps one of the most recognized logos in the world, Kodak has announced its redesign and strangely, it seems that the company has gone back to the basics. The new logo is similar to the one that was designed in 1971, though it has been slightly modified. The wordmark that is within the red symbol is now stacked vertically keeping in mind the symmetry of capital letters, though the company colors have been retained.

Perhaps one of the biggest redesign which is set to come out this year is the Subway redesign which sees a major change. “It’s a new commitment – a bold move. Even a fresh start.” The new logo is a much more minimalist design and the dated bottle green outline has been dropped and instead we can see that the colors yellow and green have been used in the logo itself.

The much loved Instagram logo too saw a makeover this year when the brand said bye-bye to the old logo depicting a camera and replaced it with a new white, curvy outline camera with a bright rainbow gradient.  Though the audience wasn’t as receptive to the new logo, the company justified it by saying that a fresh look was needed due to the popularity of the Instagram community and how it has evolved over the years.

If you thought that Subway went overboard with the redesign, take a look at what Uber came up with. They completely changed their identity with the new logo that faced much criticism as soon as it was released. Taking in input from Travis Kalanick who is the chief executive at Uber, the design team fused the idea of atoms into its new campaign and came out with this design.

Netflix came up with a new logo but a secondary one which will be used on their mobile app and across social media sites. The new icon sees the ribbon-like letter ‘N’ standing out in red sitting on a black background. The company gave it a 3D look by adding a drop shadow.
