Has Mayor Mapp gone missing?

Note the sending address for the Mayor's newsletter has changed.

For a while, I thought Mayor Mapp had gone missing.

No, not Mayor Mapp himself, but his weekly eamil newsletter. When I get back from the hospital and tried to catch up on six weeks of email, I didn't notice at first that there were none of the weekly email newsletters.

When I did realize they were not in my inbox, I did some poking around and found that Gmail had taken it upon itself to file them in its "Promotions" folder, which I hardly ever look at -- it's mostly spam and junk mail.

But the REASON Gmail filed the newsletter there was that sometime, while I was in the hospital, the city changed the sender's address.

Originally, the newsletter came from the city account of the Mayor's chief of staff, John Stewart.

Somewhere along the line though, the sender became "[email protected]" Once I dragged one of the emails from this new address to my inbox, they started showin up in the usual place.

Other email programs may handle the situation a little differently. So, if your email newsletter from the Mayor have gone missing, check to see if your program is filing them as spam and take corrective action by whitelisting the new sending address.
