If you have an old Phone lying around doing nothing you can now sell it on eBay in an instant. The whole process is designed to take a matter of minutes, with eBay doing most of the hard work. This is all thanks to a new program called Ebay Instant Selling.

Selling Your Old Smartphone

It turns out that while most of us upgrade our phones on a regular basis, few of us do anything useful with our old phones. Assuming they don’t get passed onto someone else in the family, most get placed in a drawer never to be seen again. Which is a waste.

This is especially bad form when there are so many ways of selling old phones on. Most mobile network carriers offer trade-ins, there are companies who’ll buy your phone for cold hard cash, and you can sell your old phone to someone privately as well.

How to Use eBay Instant Selling

Now, there’s also eBay Instant Selling. This is a new program that lets you sell your old phone on eBay with the minimum of effort. You just give eBay some information and upload some images of your phone, and eBay will give you a voucher in return.

This is the step-by-step process:

1. Visit eBay.com/s/phone
2. Enter the required information about your handset
3. If it’s eligible for Instant Selling, upload images
4. Click List and accept eBay’s terms and conditions
5. Receive an eBay voucher for the value of your phone
6. Ship your phone using a printable shipping label

Instant Selling isn’t available for all phones, with only a selection of relatively recent handsets eligible. This includes the iPhone 6S and newer, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 and newer. This ensures eBay isn’t stuck with unsellable stock.

The company claims that eBay Instant Selling will earn you more money than you’ll get elsewhere. The downside is you’ll get the money in the form of an eBay voucher. Still, using our guide to online shopping you may be able to bag yourself a bargain.
