Disney helped my husband and me have a perfect, fairytale 10th anniversary. Disney’s California Grill was a huge part of that.
You check in on the 2nd floor of the Contemporary. Since my my reservation was at 9:05 and Wishes was at 9:00pm that night I checked in at 8:30 and wanted to enjoy the amazing view before Wishes fireworks started. A cast member escorts you up to the California Grill and the first thing you see is the wine wall. The California Grill has a very extensive wine list!

We were about to go enjoy the view for like a minute before our table was ready. We were seated on the side of the restaurant that was closet to the castle. I had a perfect view of the castle while dining! After we ordered our drinks we went out to the observation deck to watch Wishes. It was so romantic up there! It was not crowded at all and not a whole lot children. It was nice to watch the fireworks without getting cozy with strangers on Main Street.
After Wishes we returned to our table. I forgot to mention that our table had Mickey confetti to help celebrate our anniversary, such a nice touch! Our server brought us a bread basket and took our appetizer order. I wanted to try the cheese plate. It was amazing! It was like a little foodie adventure on a plate. They give you a card naming all the cheeses and a little information about them. While this appetizer is $21 and the servings of cheese were small, my husband and I thought it was still worth the price.
Four our main course my husband and I both chose the same thing- Pork 2 Ways. The server described the dish and said it was one of the feature dishes at Disney’s California Grill. The menu description reads: Grilled Tenderloin, Goat Cheese Polenta, Mushrooms, Lacquered Belly, and Country Applesauce. The applesauce has a little kick to the sweet and the Lacquered Belly was so melt in your mouth delicious. The Lacquered Belly sat atop a cooked apple that still was firm. I loved that since I am not a huge fan of mushy fruit. Each bite my husband and I savored. Though the portions are somewhat small, the richness of the meal fills you up.
For dessert we had the Butterscotch Creme Brûlée. We experienced some extra magic because we got the dessert for free! It was divine!
