Exploring each of the countries in Epcot’s World Showcase is such a fun thing to do. There are things to do, other than eating and drinking around the World, for the whole family to enjoy. Once you enter the World Showcase, Disney’s Mexico Pavilion is the first country on the left.
The Mexico Pavilion resembles a Mesoamerican pyramid with steps leading to entrance doors. Visitors enter through a gallery display of Mexican artwork. The display changes from time to time, shortly after Coco, Dia de Muertos celebration themed items were displayed.
Disney’s Mexico Pavilion
One of the best things about Disney’s Mexico Pavilion is that most of the things to do are inside one building. Mexico opens up at 11 am. When I was a teenager I visited Monterrey, Mexico and the atmosphere in the pavilion closely resembles the street atmosphere I experienced on my trip.
Disney’s Mexico Pavilion Attractions
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. I hope you have watched The Three Caballeros before, if not, please see this movie before coming to Epcot. It is a cute movie that stars Donald Duck. You also meet Jose and Panchito who are in the ride. The ride is inside the pavilion and the line is not usually long. Fastpass+ is not available.
Below is a video I took of the ride. It is a plus-sized friendly ride. The seats are low so if you have bad knees give yourself a little more time to get in and out of the boat.
Meet Mexican Donald Duck. Outside of the Pavilion, you can meet Mexican Donald. He is wearing a sombrero and a beautiful poncho.
Shop in a Nighttime Mexican Village. Shop at the Plaza de Los Amigos, a Mexican marketplace that sells products such as sombreros, ceramics, musical instruments such as maracas, bajas, Coco, Elena of Avalor, and The Three Caballeros’ merchandise. The plaza is an “open air” marketplace with festive carts and shops such as La Tienda Encantada that carries accessories and fine jewelry, or La Princesa de Cristal that is home to crystal and glassware by Arribas Brothers.
Live Entertainment- Mariachi Cobre. Check the Epcot Times Guide for when their performances are. They play such beautiful music! It is outdoors with very little shade so please wear sunblock and or use an umbrella for shade.
KidCot Stop
There is a KidCot stop where kids do a small activity that is Mexican themed.
Disney’s Mexico Pavilion Dining
Choza de Margarita
This is the newest dining option at Disney’s Mexico Pavilion (opened late 2017). “Choza” is the Spanish word for “hut,” and the outdoor bar sits in the shadow of the iconic Mexico pyramid. The menu offers three hand-crafted margaritas, three frozen margaritas, three Mexican beers and a non-alcoholic Mexican fruit punch with orange, pineapple and grapefruit juices and a splash of grenadine.
Small bites include Tacos al Pastor with grilled pork on fresh homemade corn tortillas with green tomatillo sauce, onion, pineapple and cilantro; Empanadas de Barbacoa with beef, topped with chipotle sauce, Mexican cream, and queso fresco; and fresh guacamole with mango chutney, pumpkin and pomegranate seeds, served with fried flour chicharrones and salsa Valentina, an authentic Mexican hot sauce.
On a hot Florida day, take your pick from one of the three frozen margaritas: Lime (tequila blanco, lime sweet & sour, orange liquor and agave nectar), Wild Strawberry (tequila blanco, strawberry and prickly pear puree, violet flower liquor and lime juice), or Passion Mango (tequila blanco, orange liqueur, wild passion fruit and mango puree).
San Angel Inn Restaurante
San Angel Inn is the table service restaurant inside of the Mexico pavilion. The restaurant is modeled after a 17th-century hacienda at the base of Mayan ruins. Advanced dining reservations are encouraged.
La Hacienda de San Ángel
Discover vibrant flavors from regions around Mexico, as you dine under colorful globe lamps and star lanterns. Corn tortillas are house-made each day, and fresh salsas—ranging from sweet to spicy—are prepared with chipotle and serrano peppers, mangos and more.
Try to get a reservation around Illuminations and you have a perfect view!

La Cantina de San Ángel
La Hacienda is a quick service restaurant that serves common Mexican cuisine such as tacos, nachos, and quesadillas. During the lunch rush, you can also enjoy your meal inside the La Hacienda de San Ángel.

La Cava del Tequila
Imbibe “the essence of Mexico” with over 200 tequilas, top-shelf cocktails, Mexican beer and wine. Take off with a tequila flight or a wild passion fruit margarita. Light snacks such as guacamole and queso with corn chips are also served.
