The Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida is a great place to visit if you are on a Disney vacation. I want to share some Kennedy Space Center Tips with you so that you can have as much fun as possible and save some money too!
Kennedy Space Center Tips
Get your kids excited before the visit to the Kennedy Space Center. The Kennedy Space Center has so many cool exhibits and displays. A basic knowledge of space travel would be helpful. Check out the NASA Kid’s Club Website for online games and activities that will get your children interested in NASA for free.
Arrive Early. The Kennedy Space Center has so many things to do. It CAN be done in one day if you get there early and have a good plan.
Pack Your Lunch. The food at the Kennedy Space Center has common food and is over priced. Food and beverages packed in small, soft-sided coolers are permitted. Glass bottles or containers are not permitted inside the park. My husband and I decided to leave ours in the car and take a small break to go back and eat lunch. You can do breakfast before getting to the center and the center closes at 6pm so grabbing dinner afterwards elsewhere is not a problem.
Pack a Day Bag. Bring a bottle for water, poncho or umbrella, small first kit.
Bring an Autograph Book. You can get your book signed by a real astronaut! I didn’t have anything and was disappointed to not have something to get signed. If you are looking for a non-Disney Autograph Book, this autograph book from Amazon is stylish and has a more grown up feel to it.
Don’t Miss the Narrated Tour of the Rocket Garden- Do this First. Though the guided Tour may not be super entertaining for little kids, it is jammed pack full of info about the rockets in the garden. I would try to do this tour rather early because of the Florida weather.
Experience the Atlantis Exhibit Second. We did this last and regretted it. There is so much to do here and this is the most interactive exhibit. Kids will enjoy this part of the Kennedy Space Center the best.
Don’t Skip the Bus Tour. The bus takes you to the Saturn 5 center. Once you get there, consult your times guide for the guided tour.
Budget for Souvenirs. The souvenirs are just as pricey as the ones at Disney. They did have $5-$10 items, but they were things that would break or that were edible.
