Dear Reader
In the last three years we have broken into the boys’ club with Britain’s first feminist party. Now I’m asking you to Support my campaign for leader so we can take forward our insurgency!
In the next five years I want to build a blueprint for a social care and healthcare system that is the envy of other countries; nourish an education system that focuses on creativity instead of cramming; and write foreign policy for a post-Brexit Britain based on women's rights, representation and resources.
I want to fight the commodification of our bodies by ending demand for the sex trade and stamping out trafficking. I will champion the vital advocacy and support work of women’s organisations by insisting on sustainable funding.
I want to support women on low pay, in zero hours contracts and those struggling in pension poverty. I want to force an understanding of women's disproportionate dependency on our benefits system and the way successive governments invest instead in men.
I am proud to have written our 2017 General Election pledge to match pound for pound spending on social as well as physical infrastructure as the foundations for a fairer future for women. I want to turn tired, patriarchal politics on its head.
Together we can build our movement in every part of the UK. I will work hard to ensure women from all backgrounds feel included and represented. I want to build an army of joyful activists, supported with regular training camps and regional hubs for sharing ideas and networking.
