Volunteers are needed to help monitor how salmon are doing in our local streams, between October through December, to observe spawning salmon and collect data on dead salmon.
A Community Salmon Investigation for Highline Orientation Workshop will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Normandy Park City Hall, Council Chambers, 801 SW 174th Street.
“No experience needed! Volunteers only need rain gear and hip waders.”
- Learn to identify spawning salmon
- Walk sections of Miller and Walker Creeks in waders
- Monitor adult salmon abundance and assess pre-spawn mortality
