Student hit, injured by car in front of Highline High School Monday morning

A student was hit by a car and injured while crossing S. 152nd Street near Highline High School Monday morning, March 6.

According to Catherine Carbone Rogers of Highline Public Schools, the Student was not using a crosswalk.

Medics transported the injured victim to the hospital with minor injuries.

As we previously reported Feb. 24, a hit and run accident tragically killed 73-year old school district employee April Fait nearby.

“Student safety is our top priority, and we encourage you to talk with your children about using caution even when crossing in a designated crosswalk,” Principal Vicki Fisher said.

Here’s the text of an email sent out by the district:

Dear Highline High School Families,

This morning, a student was hit by a car and injured while crossing 152nd Street.  Medics transported the student to the hospital.  Thankfully, the injuries appear to be minor.

Student safety is our top priority, and we encourage you to talk with your children about using caution even when crossing in a designated crosswalk.

If you have questions please feel free to call me at 206.631.6700.

Sincerely,
Vicki Fisher
Principal
