About 100 people are suspended in Cable Cars over the German city of Cologne after one collided with a support pillar.
Terrifying images showed children being brought down to safety from the height after the system was shut down, Metro UK reports.
Fire crews are attempting to evacuate the passengers from the cable cars that have come to a stop over the Rhine river.
Local authorities said that 32 cable cars were running at the time.
The other 31 were halted as a precaution when one ran into the pillar.
The DPA news agency reported that as many as 100 people are stranded, according to transport and fire department officials.
