Now, IBPS started these exams in the year 2011 as a Common Written Examination (CWE) in order to recruit officers and clerks in the Public sector Banks.

Now, every year with more than 20 lakh candidates applying for the examination and only a few of them clears the exam then clearing this exam is certainly not a piece of cake. So, you need to practice again and again and as much as you can in order to enhance your skills and therefore clear it.

Eligibility

  • Citizenship

Fist the applicant must satisfy certain conditions related to his/her citizenship, then only he will be looked for below-mentioned eligibilities.

Candidates applying for IBPS Bank PO entrance must be one of the following:

  1. Citizen of India.
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  3. Tibetan refugee who’s been a resident of India before 1st January 1962 and wants to become a citizen.
  4. Indian origins from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, who visited India with the attention of attaining the citizenship of India.
  5. Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their possession.
  • IBPS PO Prelim

The only qualification you require to apply for IBPS is Graduation in any field, whether it be B.com or B.Tech, all graduates are eligible to apply for IBPS prelim examination just what they require is the knowledge of Computer operation as it is a must for IBPS PO because it is conducted online on a computer system and the candidate must have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the state i.e. he must be able to read, write and speak the state language. So, in total in order to start practicing for IBPS Prelim exams you need first be a graduate, then have the computer knowledge and should know the state language.

  • IBPS PO Main

In order to qualify for attempting the IBPS Mains, the candidate must clear the IBPS Prelim Entrance Examination first, only then he can sit for IBPS Mains Entrance.

Exam Pattern

Before sitting for the entrance it is necessary for you to know your exam pattern.

Candidates applying for the Prelim/Main entrance should know the exam pattern for their respective entrances.

  • Prelim Pattern

The duration of the exam is one hour(1 hour) and is totally conducted online. It consists of 3 sections totaling 100 questions with the maximum score of 100 marks i.e. 1 mark for each correct answer but waits there’s more as there is negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer.

Now in order to clear the exam, the candidate must clear the sectional cut-off’s.

  • IBPS PO Main

The exam is conducted entirely online for a duration of 3 hours, previously 2 hours and 20 minutes. The exam is divided into 4(four) sections and in order to clear the whole exam, it is mandatory for every candidate to clear every section of the exam to get qualified for the post of Probationary Officer (PO). The three sections constitute 155 questions combined, in which a student can score to a maximum of 200 marks. It is of utmost importance for the candidate to clear all the 4 sections, and each part of the exam have its own particular duration i.e. the section have its own timeframe in which it needs to be cleared and after that time the test will get automatically submitted, and all your unanswered questions will remain unanswered and these instructions should be kept in your mind before attempting the test,  if you want to clear the exam. In addition to the 155 questions, IBPS has introduced a descriptive paper as well, which constitutes of 2 Questions bagging 25 marks.

The registration for the exam is done online. students who want to apply for the examination needs to go the IBPS official website and apply there to be registered for the examination. The pattern for the Mains is as:
