That is exactly what smart card does for students. It provides a secure environment for them to practice and learn the dos and don’ts of technology from the offset.
No more carrying money, or the Risk of mishandling cash, student identity card is a token to their payments needs in canteen and libraries. Smart cards integrate e-payment wallets and provide an important safeguard of money in small denomination for use by students. Parents can recharge student wallets with appropriate denominations for their wards’ needs. After incorporating Go cashless, CBSE is now taking initiative for Smart Cards for students.
Smart card carries a risk of fraud. But school is proving to be an effective way of mitigating those risks as risk of fraudulent march is absent and as part of rules good practices of handling smart cards can go a long way in making sure when students grow up as adults they are responsible for their behaviour and proper handling of digital payment becomes a second instinct.
