Last week I was NYC with some very talented chefs for the ATL Food & Wine kick off media party.
I was very happy with the Dish I came up with.
parsnips, curly endive, pecan brittle, sassafras vinaigrette
The farmers from Ashland Farms really grew some outstanding micro spinach for me.
There was an overwhelming amount of Deviled eggs in NYC. If I remember correctly, through the heavy fog of bourbon, 15 restaurants visited, 9 serving deviled eggs. It's great to see southern cuisine get it's due; however the south is way more than just deviled eggs.
The best dish I had was at the Modern.
Sturgeon & Sauerkraut Tart
American caviar, mousseline, applewood smoke
Maybe top 5 dishes of all time. This was cooked absolutely perfectly.
Not to be outdone though was The Marrow.
The Bone Marrow
sea urchin, fried potatoes, meyer lemon aioli, green salad
It was so good I order 2.
